Tandoori is a traditional cooking style, which has been around for many hundreds of years. Similar to barbecuing the difference here is that the cooking takes place in a Tandoor which is a cylindrical oven made of clay, heated by charcoal, wood, gas or even electricity.
Tandoori Chicken is when you marinate the meat for at least 12 hours. Chicken wings, with spices, yogurt, garlic, ginger, herbs and a few drops of red food colouring. Skewered on special skewers which are lowered down and hang from the top edge of the tandoori oven. Conventional ovens can used instead.
Ingredients - Paprika, Himalayan Pink Salt, Red Chilli, Ginger, Black Pepper, Cumin, Brown Cardamom, Garlic, Aniseed, Cinnamon, Dried Papaya Powder, Maltodextrin, Cane Sugar, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Citric Acid, Sodium Phosphate, Canola Oil, Silicon Dioxide (Anticaking Agent).
Chicken Skinless 1 1/2 kg or 8-12 portions
Yogurt, Plain 200g
Lemon Juice, 5-6 tablespoons
Red Food Colour, 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon
Cooking Oil / Melted Butter 4-6 tablespoons
